I came across this group of camel enthusiasts quite by accident early one Friday morning in December 2017. I had spent the previous night in Wedj and had left quite early heading for Al Deesa.

The old part of Wedj appears to have been left to nature. Although there are signs of its recent use, I can't imagine that anybody has lived here recently. Fortunately, there is no evidence of what is sometimes mistakenly referred to as preservation. To me, this does appear to be one of the most authentic examples of traditional architecture.
